As pharmaceutical companies are collaborating and acquiring more frequently biotech companies, business development activities are becoming essential key positions in these companies. Inlicensing (sometimes also outlicensing), partnering, contracting, due dilligence and sometimes acquisition experience usually is mostly essential for these positions.

Candidates should have a relevant scientific background. This should sometimes be combined with relevant network on a global scale or having worked at biotech companies might also be required.
